Coaches Are the Bloodline of Bulls Rush FC
Weekly Edition 004

At Bulls Rush FC, players are the why—but coaches are the how.
Facilities matter. Uniforms matter. Platforms and pathways matter.
But none of it works without great coaches leading the process every single day.
That’s why we say this without hesitation:
Coaches are the bloodline of Bulls Rush FC.
They shape the environment.
They guide development.
They influence confidence, character, and love for the game.
And because of that responsibility, we take coach education, coach mindset, and coach growth extremely seriously.
A Culture of Learning, Not Just Coaching
At Bulls Rush FC, coaching is not a destination—it’s a continuous journey.
We actively encourage and support our coaches pursuing education through:
- U.S. Soccer coaching courses
- United Soccer Coaches diplomas and certifications
- UEFA coaching pathways
- Rush Soccer coaching education, CPDs, and methodology courses
- Bulls Rush Monthly Coach Education Zoom Calls and soon Starting Quarterly Field Sessions
- Continuing education clinics, webinars, and best-practice workshops
- Thought leadership resources like The Coaching Manual, The Coach’s Voice, Soccer Coach Weekly, Elite Soccer Coach and Women's Soccer Coach Weekly, plus numerous other resources in an exclusive google drive library that all coaches and assistants have access to.
Why?
Because the game is constantly evolving—and so must we.
Reflection Is Not Optional
Great coaches don’t just run sessions.
They
reflect.
At Bulls Rush FC, we actively encourage coaches to:
- Reflect after every training session
- Reflect after matches—wins and losses
- Ask hard questions about the environment they’re creating
- Seek feedback and apply it intentionally
To support that process, we utilize Coach Logic and the SAM (System for Analysis of Coaching Behavior) tool. These tools allow coaches to objectively review:
- How often they talk
- When they intervene
- The language they use
- Whether their actions match their intentions
Growth begins with awareness—and awareness requires reflection.
Mindset Matters as Much as Licensing
Yes, we
require coaches to be licensed.
Yes, we expect them to pursue ongoing education.
But credentials alone are not enough.
We look for coaches who demonstrate:
- A growth mindset
- Humility and curiosity
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and evolve
- Alignment with our Player-First philosophy
- A desire to serve players—not themselves
We proudly welcome parent coaches into our club. In fact, many outstanding Bulls Rush FC coaches started as parents.
But here’s the standard:
Wanting to coach is not enough.
You must be willing to learn, be licensed, and fully align with our philosophy and values.
That’s non-negotiable.
Shared Learning, Shared Standards
Coach development at Bulls Rush FC is not isolated.
We host monthly coach education calls that focus on:
- Player development principles
- Training design
- Game understanding
- Communication and leadership
- Aligning behaviors to beliefs
These sessions ensure that while our coaches are individuals, our standards and expectations are shared.
Consistency matters—for players, parents, and coaches alike.
Why This Matters
Because players deserve it.
Because development doesn’t happen by accident.
Because the right coach can change a child’s entire relationship with the game—and sometimes their life.
At Bulls Rush FC, we don’t chase shortcuts.
We don’t rely on talent alone.
We invest in people.
And it all starts with our coaches.
Player-First. Always.
Coaches Who Learn. Coaches Who Lead. Coaches Who Care.
That’s the Bulls Rush FC way.
